My name is Emily Van Ewyk and I am honoured to be one of this past year’s recipients of the Catherine Wilson Award. I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for your generosity in funding this scholarship. Because of your investment, I will be able to pursue my academic career in the upcoming years.

I have recently returned from a 5-month trip focused on learning how to help and serve remote and impoverished communities in the world, and spent much time teaching English, providing humanitarian aid and supporting the long-term service workers in Southeast Asia. My current aspirations are to be enrolled in the Bachelor of Science in Nursing at Lambton College this fall, and continue my studies as I pursue a career as a Nurse Practitioner that I might serve in the health care industry locally and overseas.

My educational pursuits may not have been possible without your generous donation and investment in my life as a student. Thank you for supporting me to reach my fullest potential academically and as a contributor to society.
